The Experience

1: Pre-session consultation

Each session that is booked with my studio receives a pre-session consultation. I want you to love your photos now and in years to come when you look back on them, so I will work with you to ensure that all your preferences are taken into consideration when styling your session.

For styled sessions such as newborn and sitter sessions, you will receive a questionnaire to complete ahead of this consultation to help guide me in terms of your preferences and it is also a good chance to let me know any favourites you’ve spotted on my website, blog or social media pages. 

A week or two ahead of your shoot, I will schedule a pre-session consultation with you. This can be completed either over the phone or in person and is a chance for us to confirm colour preferences, ask questions and chat about what to expect during your session, what to wear and what to bring along. If you pop into the studio, you’ll also have the opportunity to see some of my beautiful props, gowns and products, too.

2: Your session

For newborn sessions, I set aside up to four hours for the session, though usually they are completed ahead of this time. This allows plenty of time for cuddles, settling and feeding baby.

All newborn sessions are held in my beautiful home studio, which is kept nice and warm to provide the perfect environment to keep baby comfortable and sleepy.

Family, Children and Maternity sessions can be held in my studio or at an outdoor location, if preferred.

3: Your Design and Ordering Meeting

Before you leave my studio, I will schedule a time for you to return to the studio to view your images. Here, you watch a beautiful slideshow of your images, and will select those that you love and the finishes that you wish to display them on. I am here to help you all the way through the process.

4: Payment

You can pay in full using cash, card or EFTPOS at your ordering session. This is the quickest way to get your images hanging on your walls. 

Alternatively, interest-free payment plans are available. A 20% deposit is taken at your ordering session and automatic payments set up to finalise your purchase. Full payment must be made three months after the ordering session and orders will be fulfilled once full payment is made.

5: Enjoy your portraits

Once your beautiful order has arrived in my studio, I’ll be in touch to arrange a good time for you to collect it. Now all that’s left for you to do is to hang your artwork or view your gorgeous prints or album in your own home, and share them with your friends and family.

After the shoot

After each session, Rachel will prepare 20-25 high-quality professionally edited images. As soon as the images are ready, she will be in touch to schedule your reveal session where you can return to the studio, relax and enjoy being presented with your art. This is when you will have the opportunity to select a photography package or choose products from Rachel’s al a carte menu – you may even be able to take some of the items home with you on the same day! All products are fine-art quality and are designed to last for generations.
