Meet Riley, nine days new | Western Sydney newborn photography
What a delight it was to capture little Riley’s newborn photos in my Western Sydney photography studio recently!
Just a few weeks before Riley’s arrival, I took mum, Jac’s, maternity portraits, so I’ve had the pleasure of watching and capturing little Riley’s family grow from three to four as his family patiently waited on his arrival.
I think it’s safe to say that little Riley was pretty comfortable during his session.
It’s always such a lovely experience to see a little one become a big brother or sister. It’s such an exciting time for the whole family and the bond the children have with each other is so very special. It was no different with little Heidi and her new brother. She is such a happy, bubbly little lady and I adore this shot of her looking over Riley.
In our pre-session consultation, Jac let me know that her preference was for neutral tones, and she particularly liked greys and dark blues, so I set about styling her shoot in these tones. She made a great choice because these colours are perfect on Riley. I always find these pre-sessions consultations to be so very worthwhile – it’s a great chance for me to get to know my clients ahead of the shoot and especially design my shoot around their style preferences and keep in mind any particular products they are wanting to take home from the session. For example, if they know they want to buy an album or a gorgeous big hero piece for the wall, we can work together to achieve the perfect outcome.
I love capturing all the little details – and little Riley’s lips are no exception. So gorgeous with that beautiful light falling across his face.
Creating special artworks for my clients is something that I really adore. Images like these are sure to be treasured by the family for many years to come. Hero pieces like the image to follow are perfect for becoming wall art pieces (think canvas, framed prints or stunning wood prints) that can hang in baby’s nursery, hallway or stairway, or family room.
But the best images of all, to me, are the family portraits. Creating an image where time has been frozen in this special moment is so, so, so precious. And, as photographer, these are the moments that make my job so very wonderful.
Thank you, Nathan, Jac, Heidi and Riley for allowing me to capture this special time for you all.
